Ian Bishop is well known among soccer players and fans throughout the world as a member of three of the finest and most thrilling teams ever, Manchester City, West Ham and Everton, with over seven hundred appearances. He played in the U.S.A. for the MLS in 2001.

 Great acclaim for player...

He's just a complete footballer," Fusion coach Ray Hudson said after the practice. "A blind man can see his quality, guile and talent and what a fulcrum for a team he can be -- great control, lovely touch, great vision, great execution.”

Great acclaim for team...

"He made a massive contribution to our back-to-back promotions," said Manchester City Manager Joe Royle in an interview on the team's official web site.  "His control, touch and awareness of the ball are immaculate and he is surely one of the best uncapped players in this country in the last ten years."

Famous Day…

Bishop played a key role in the famous 5-1 derby demolition of Manchester United side on September 23, 1989. His classic headed goal and glorious cross-field pass to set White racing down the right flank for the fifth goal - nodded home by Blues' left-back Andy Hinchcliffe - sent Maine Road into raptures and elevated Bishop to cult status. He beamed: "That was a great day for everybody involved and is now part of City folklore."
